Job details

Who We Are At Narcity, we are dedicated to innovating the future of local media. Narcity Media operates Narcity.com, MTLBlog.com, Rally, and Locals.tv, engaging millions of Millennials and Gen Zs monthly through our digital platforms. Our teams deliver local and global news, trending content, and lifestyle information that keeps our audiences informed and connected. Your Team The Partnerships Department drives revenue through creative and strategic partnerships with brands and agencies. Our focus is on delivering exceptional client experiences and impactful solutions that meet and exceed our clients’ objectives. Your Mission This is a highly proactive, market-facing sales role focused on building relationships and creating opportunities with new and existing clients. Regular client meetings, agency visits, and industry events will be an important part of how you spend your time day to day. While new client acquisition is central to the role, you will also leverage data-driven strategies and strong analytical skills to identify and develop opportunities across existing, lapsed, and underdeveloped accounts — expanding Narcity’s footprint within key brands and agencies. You will identify opportunities, pitch and present Narcity’s solutions, and ensure we are consistently present with key decision-makers. Business Development & Client Growth Proactively prospect and qualify new business opportunities with mid-to-large advertisers and agencies. Build and deepen relationships across new, existing, and lapsed clients, identifying opportunities across brands, teams, budgets, and briefs. Develop relationships with multiple stakeholders within priority accounts to increase Narcity’s visibility and access to opportunities. Act as a strategic, data-driven solutions consultant, leveraging analytics and AI tools to develop tailored strategies and pitches that align Narcity’s products with client objectives. Educate clients on NMG’s offering, including creator marketing, branded content, media, and emerging advertising solutions. Maintain an active understanding of client planning cycles, upcoming briefs, and business priorities to identify opportunities early. Build and manage a healthy sales pipeline that contributes to individual and team revenue targets. Market Presence & Relationship Building Maintain a strong cadence of in-person client and agency meetings, spending meaningful time in-market with decision-makers. Proactively create opportunities for face-to-face engagement through agency visits, presentations, coffees, office hours, and informal catch-ups. Be visible and active within the Canadian advertising community by attending relevant industry events, conferences, agency gatherings, and client functions. Build and leverage a strong industry network to open doors, uncover briefs, and create new opportunities. Act as an ambassador for Narcity, keeping our brand, products, and capabilities top-of-mind with existing and prospective clients. Help create opportunities to bring clients together through Narcity events, presentations, education sessions, and other relationship-building initiatives. Sales Execution & Accountability Support the development and own the execution of go-to-market strategies for Narcity’s advertising products and solutions. Consistently track activity and pipeline in CRM, forecast accurately, and maintain accountability against individual and team targets. Collaborate with internal teams to refine our products, sales messaging, and positioning based on client and market feedback. You Must Have Proven experience in media sales, agency business development, or B2B growth. Experience selling creator marketing, branded content, native media, or related digital advertising solutions. Demonstrated success developing new business and growing existing client relationships. A genuine enthusiasm for face-to-face selling and networking, with a track record of creating opportunities through relationship building. A strong existing network — or demonstrated ability to rapidly build one — across Canadian brands, agencies, and the advertising community. Confidence independently opening doors, setting meetings, and developing relationships across multiple stakeholders. A strong understanding of the digital media landscape, marketing funnel tactics, and AI-driven analytics tools to mine data for growth opportunities. Excellent communication, presentation, pitching, and negotiation skills. An entrepreneurial mindset with strong organizational skills and the ability to independently build and manage a healthy pipeline. Proficiency with CRM platforms and performance analytics tools. Nice to Have Fluency in French (preferred but not required). Familiarity with publisher-side content studios or media platforms. Compensation & Structure OTE Range: $75,000 – $125,000 CAD, including base salary and commission. Base + commission model with clear targets aligned to revenue performance.
