The position is classified as a RÉ-03 ($56,716 to $71,778 per annum – under review). A list of qualified candidates may be compiled and may be used for additional temporary or indeterminate positions. JOB OVERVIEW As a Property Maintenance Coordinator, you will help ensure the readiness, functionality, safety and presentation of the NCC’s properties and facilities. You will provide hands-on operational support to maintain well-functioning and welcoming environments, contributing to the delivery of maintenance, custodial and facility services. You will also support ceremonial and official events, helping ensure spaces are prepared to welcome distinguished guests and support activities of national significance. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION Successful completion of a secondary school diploma or an employer-approved alternative. EXPERIENCE One (1) to three (3) years of experience in facilities operations, building maintenance or custodial services, including: • performing building maintenance, custodial or facility support activities. • identifying and addressing maintenance, operational or safety issues. • providing operational support and client service in a professional environment. KNOWLEDGE • of building maintenance, custodial services and facility operations. • of safe work practices, including the use of tools, equipment and materials. • of building systems, property inspections and the identification of maintenance and safety issues. ABILITIES • To identify maintenance, operational and safety concerns and take appropriate action. • To organize and prioritize work in a fast-paced operational environment. • To communicate effectively and provide excellent client service. • To work independently and as part of a team. WORKING CONDITIONS • Physical duties involving mobility, ladder use and work in confined spaces. • Exposure to environmental conditions, cleaning products and equipment hazards. • Occasional operational pressures in support of maintenance activities and official events. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT • Possess or eligible to obtain a Secret security clearance. • Linguistic profile: Bilingual BBB. • Position is in the National Capital Region. The person selected for this position must reside within a commutable distance from the workplace at 1 Sussex Drive (Rideau Hall), Ottawa, Ontario. • The person selected for this position is expected to always work on site.
