About

The National Media Awards Foundation (NMAF) is a Canadian charitable organization dedicated to fostering excellence in journalism, visual storytelling, and digital publishing. Since 1977, NMAF has recognized and celebrated outstanding achievement across Canada’s media landscape, supporting both established professionals and emerging talent. The Foundation produces three bilingual award programs: • National Magazine Awards – Honoring excellence in Canadian print and digital magazines. • Digital Publishing Awards – Recognizing innovation and achievement in digital journalism, including multimedia storytelling and design. • National Magazine Awards: B2B – Celebrating editorial excellence in business-to-business publishing. Governed by a volunteer board representing Canada’s publishing industry, NMAF is committed to fostering a media landscape that reflects the country’s diverse voices and perspectives. Beyond awards, the Foundation supports professional development through mentorship and training initiatives, helping media professionals refine their skills and advance their careers.
