PRIMARY WORKERS Hotel/Supportive housing Part time - Weekend Evenings/ Overnights – Red Deer, Alberta Closing date: October 1, 2026 Native Counselling Services of Alberta’s mission is to promote the resilience of the indigenous individual and family, through programs and services that are grounded in reclaiming our interconnectedness, reconciliation of relationships and self-determination. Native Counselling Services of Alberta (NCSA) provides services throughout Alberta to Indigenous individuals who are working to change their lives and live a holistic lifestyle. Our focus has been to provide cultural supports and guidance to individuals where they want. Our housing support services are looking for a few individuals to work casual or part time within our programs within various work schedules. Our facilities are open 24 hours, and we want individuals who are committed, ensuring the facilities are kept safe for the residents, the community and our staff. Specific responsibilities will include the following: To monitor and observe the static and dynamics security functions to ensure the care and well being of residents and community remain safe with providing ongoing supports as required. Responsible for supporting individuals in their self growth in a safe, healthy environment. To assist individuals who are working on their realistic case plans to address barriers, advocate for residents when necessary. To work the 4:00 pm – 12:00 am shift, Saturday and Sunday (Weekend Evenings), or To work the 12:00 am – 8:00 am shift, Friday and Saturday (Weekend Overnights). Our ideal candidate would have the following qualifications: In-depth experience and working knowledge of Indigenous communities, cultures, healing and language. Demonstrated understanding of historic trauma and the impact of colonization on Indigenous people. Excellent time management, ability to prioritize work, should be self motivated and able to take initiatives to ensure safety of all. Must be dependable, dress appropriately for the position. Good working knowledge of computers and information technology. Ability to work as a team with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must maintain confidentiality, maintain professional boundaries, and open to learning. Strong interpersonal relations, conflict resolution, leadership and time management skills. Up to date criminal record check, child intervention check and driver’s abstract. Previous experience working with multi-barrier individuals is an asset. Requirements

Candidates should have in-depth knowledge of Indigenous communities, cultures, healing, and language, along with an understanding of historic trauma and colonization. Strong communication, teamwork, time management, conflict resolution, computer skills, dependability, confidentiality, and professional boundaries are expected; current criminal record and child intervention checks and a driver’s abstract are required.
