Job Title: Data Analytics Specialist / Data Scientist Duration: 12 Months of Contract Location: Edmonton, AB - T5K 2B6, Canada (Remote, Onsite Visit for 1-2 per month or occasionally) *Important Note: Applications from outside Canada will not be considered - please submit your application accordingly. Key Responsibilities: Design and develop analytical models, dashboards, and data products. Apply advanced statistical, AI, and ML techniques to solve complex business problems. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand analytics needs. Support full-stack data analytics or AI applications. Provide leadership, mentorship, and strategic advice on data initiatives. Must Have Skills: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field. 6+ years of experience with R, Python, SQL. Strong background in predictive & prescriptive modeling. Expertise in statistical/data mining techniques and complex business problem-solving. Experience with AI/ML for anomaly detection, predictive monitoring, or automation. Nice to Have Skills: Experience with data sharing, de-identification, metadata, synthetic data, and data literacy. 2+ years building end-to-end analytical or AI-enabled applications (React.js, Vue.js). Experience with big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark) or cloud platforms (Azure, Snowflake). Familiarity with large government datasets.

The Data Analytics Specialist will design and develop analytical models, dashboards, and data products while applying advanced statistical, AI, and ML techniques to solve complex business problems. They will also collaborate with stakeholders to understand analytics needs and provide leadership on data initiatives.

Requirements

Candidates must have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field and at least 6 years of experience with R, Python, and SQL. A strong background in predictive and prescriptive modeling, as well as expertise in statistical techniques and AI/ML applications, is required.
