Job summary

Sandstone Pharmacies McKenzie Lake is looking for an experienced full-time Pharmacy Assistant to join our team in Calgary, Alberta. Patient Focused Care Responsibilities: Support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing high-quality patient care Greet customers and answer phone calls in a professional manner Assist with entering, labelling, and packaging prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist or pharmacy technician Accurately count, measure, and package medications according to established protocols Receive and stock medication and supply shipments, monitor inventory levels, rotate stock, and support inventory audits Keep the pharmacy area clean and organized; safely dispose of expired medications and hazardous waste in accordance with regulations Perform clerical tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning, and assist with insurance claims and prescription transfers Assist with daily pharmacy operations and perform other duties as assigned Qualifications: Minimum 3 years of experience as a Pharmacy Assistant in a retail pharmacy with a preliminary understanding of the pharmacy business. Completion of a pharmacy assistant program is an asset. Proficiency with Kroll, along with a high level of accuracy and efficiency in prescription data entry, is considered an asset. What you’ll do

The Pharmacy Assistant will support pharmacists and technicians in providing high-quality patient care, including prescription processing and inventory management. They are also responsible for maintaining a clean pharmacy environment and performing essential clerical duties such as filing and insurance claims processing.

Requirements

Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of experience as a Pharmacy Assistant in a retail setting. Proficiency with Kroll software and completion of a pharmacy assistant program are considered strong assets.
