Position Summary The Labourer is a key member of our Field Operations team and serves as the foundation of our technician development program. Working alongside experienced technicians, Labourers support security, surveillance, access control, structured cabling, networking, and infrastructure projects while developing the skills required to advance into a Security Systems Technician role. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy physical work, are mechanically inclined, take pride in workmanship, and are looking to build a long-term career in the security and low-voltage industry. Primary Responsibilities Structured Cabling Support Pull and route Cat6 and Cat6A cabling. Assist with fiber optic cable installations. Stage materials and equipment. Label cables as directed. Support cable testing and certification activities. Assist with telecommunications room organization. Pathway Installation Assist technicians with installing: J-Hooks Basket Tray Ladder Tray Cable Supports Raceway Systems Firestopping Systems Conduit Installation Support Assist with: EMT installations FMC installations LFMC installations Material preparation Wire pulling operations Conduit support installation Security System Installation Support Assist with: Camera mounting Access control device installation Alarm system rough-in Equipment staging Device labeling Jobsite setup and cleanup Material & Inventory Management Load and unload vehicles. Organize project materials. Maintain inventory accuracy. Receive and stage equipment. Maintain warehouse and vehicle organization. Site Responsibilities Maintain clean worksites. Perform daily housekeeping. Remove construction debris. Organize materials. Maintain professional jobsite appearance. Tool Responsibilities Clean company tools. Inspect tools for damage. Report defective equipment. Maintain tool organization. Ensure tools are properly stored. Company Vehicle Responsibilities Maintain vehicle cleanliness. Perform daily vehicle inspections. Organize vehicle inventory. Report vehicle deficiencies promptly. Required Qualifications Experience Construction, electrical, telecommunications, security, or related experience considered an asset. Mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand tools. Positive attitude and willingness to learn. Physical Requirements Lift up to 50 lbs. Work on ladders. Work indoors and outdoors. Work in construction environments. Perform physically demanding tasks throughout the day. Required Certification: Must possess or be willing to obtain: Working at Heights WHMIS Aerial Lift Certification Valid Ontario G Driver's License Labourer Development Program: Labourers are expected to develop competency in: Cable Pulling Cable Support Installation Basic EMT/FMC Support Site Preparation Documentation Basics Tool Care Vehicle Care These competencies form the foundation for advancement to Technician I. Safety Responsibilities Employees must: Follow all New Age Health & Safety policies. Wear required PPE. Participate in safety meetings. Report hazards immediately. Follow Working at Heights procedures. Follow customer site safety requirements. Maintain safe work practices at all times.
