POSITION SUMMARY: The Warranty Recovery Analyst is responsible for managing supplier warranty recovery activities for New Flyer and Motor Coach Industries (MCI). This role plays a critical part in maximizing supplier recoveries, reducing warranty costs, and supporting continuous improvements in product quality and supplier performance. The successful candidate is highly organized, analytical, and detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem solving. They possess strong communication and relationship-building skills and can effectively collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers to investigate failures, resolve claims, and identify recovery opportunities. WHAT YOU WILL DO: Administer and manage supplier warranty recovery claims for New Flyer and MCI, including claim analysis, supplier evaluation, recovery pursuit, and claim resolution. Investigate component failures and determine warranty recovery opportunities based on supplier responsibility and contractual obligations. Negotiate and resolve complex or disputed warranty recovery claims with suppliers. Collaborate with Supply Chain, Procurement, Supplier Quality, Engineering, and Service Engineering teams to maximize recovery opportunities and improve supplier performance. Analyze warranty claim data and identify trends related to component failures, supplier performance, and warranty costs. Prepare reports and presentations for leadership detailing failure trends, supplier recoveries, and associated costs. Maintain accurate claim records and ensure all documentation, costs, evaluations, and supporting information are complete and up to date within OSVC. Coordinate with Finance to ensure timely processing, reconciliation, and closure of supplier warranty credits. Work with Regional Product Support Managers and Field Technicians to support failed-part investigations, returns, and scrap authorization processes. Coordinate the return, tracking, and disposition of warranty parts with warehouse and inventory teams. Respond to supplier and customer inquiries regarding claim status, freight issues, and warranty-related matters. Validate and maintain supplier parts information, master sheets, and warranty recovery data. Support continuous improvement initiatives through data-driven analysis and process enhancements. Assist the Warranty and Recovery team with additional projects and departmental initiatives as required. Perform other duties as assigned. WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL: Minimum 2 years of experience in warranty administration, claims management, supplier recovery, or a related field. Minimum 2 years of experience in parts distribution, fleet maintenance, transit, automotive, or heavy-duty vehicle environments. Experience investigating, processing, and resolving warranty or supplier claims. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify trends and recovery opportunities. Experience working with ERP systems (Oracle experience considered an asset). Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-management skills. High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Transit, bus, heavy-duty truck, fleet, or automotive industry experience is considered an asset. Diploma in Business Administration or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
