Rainy River Situated in beautiful northwestern Ontario, 65 km northwest of Fort Frances, the Rainy River mine is an open pit and underground, gold and silver producing, residential mine site. The Rainy River mine, located adjacent to the Ontario/Minnesota border is 65 kilometers northwest of Fort Frances, Ontario and is situated half way between Winnipeg, Manitoba and Thunder Bay, Ontario The area is home to more than 130 species of birds and large populations of moose, black bear and deer. About The Role Position: Technology Superintendent Schedule: 4 days in / 3 days off, 10 hour days (Relocation preferred with option of hybrid schedule ) Position Reports To: Maintenance Manager Position Overview The Technology Superintendent will be responsible for establishing site-level ownership of technology systems that support safe, reliable, and efficient mine and mill operations. This role will lead the on-site Technology Department across IT, OT, data analytics, and digital solutions, with a focus on system reliability, security, data accuracy, and ongoing support. Key Responsibilities Establish site-level ownership and support for mine and mill technology systems. Lead the site technology roadmap across IT, OT, data analytics, and improvement initiatives. Develop and implement initiatives that improve operational visibility, reliability, and security. Support Management of Change processes for technology systems. Analyze system data and architecture to identify value drivers, gaps, and risks. Deliver practical dashboards, analytics, and workflow tools that improve site performance. Develop business cases and recommendations for technology improvement initiatives. Manage vendor and contractor support for technology systems. Develop and manage department budgets and forecasts. Lead, coach, and develop team members across IT, OT, and digital functions. Support broader business improvement and site development initiatives. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Automation, Information Systems, or related field. Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in mining, maintenance, IT, and/or OT. Previous site leadership experience or cross-functional project leadership experience. Strong understanding of site operations and maintenance workflows. Working knowledge of SAP or other CMMS/EAM systems. Knowledge of OT/IT integration concepts, data historians, fleet systems, and CMMS integration. Understanding of OT architecture, including the Purdue Model or ISA-95, considered an asset. Experience using data, analytics, and reporting tools to improve business performance. Ability to translate data outputs into practical site actions. Strong leadership, communication, facilitation, analytical, and presentation skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite; Power Platform experience considered an asset. Compensation The anticipated salary range for this position will be between $135,000 to $160,000. Requirements
Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Information Systems and at least 5 years of experience in mining, IT, or OT. Proven leadership experience and proficiency with CMMS/EAM systems like SAP are required.
