Job summary

New Value Solutions, a national IT consulting company, is seeking a highly experienced Commercial Deal Architect / IT Outsourcing Negotiation Specialist to support a major Digital Workplace Services transformation initiative for a public sector client. This is a senior commercial deal architecture role focused on translating a future IT service and operating model into the commercial structure required to source, negotiate, contract, and manage a large, complex services environment. The successful consultant will bring direct, hands-on experience structuring and negotiating major IT managed services, outsourcing, or multi-service technology services transactions. Responsibilities Develop commercial structures for large-scale IT services and managed services arrangements. Assess service packaging, bundling, disaggregation, and commercial separation options. Design pricing approaches including fixed, unit-based, consumption, volume, outcome-based, and hybrid models. Develop mechanisms addressing demand, volume changes, minimum commitments, productivity, benchmarking, and cost reduction. Define commercial risk allocation across transition, transformation, service changes, third-party costs, termination, and exit. Design commercial components of service levels, performance standards, incentives, and service credits. Develop negotiation strategies, commercial positions, priorities, trade-offs, fallback positions, and concession strategies. Assess vendor proposals and identify their financial, operational, and strategic implications. Participate directly in commercial negotiations and advise on proposed compromises and negotiated positions. Work collaboratively with procurement, legal, finance, technical, operational, and executive stakeholders. Requirements Significant senior-level experience in commercial deal architecture, IT outsourcing, managed services, or complex technology services transactions. Direct responsibility for the commercial structuring and negotiation of at least two large-scale IT managed services, IT outsourcing, and/or multi-service technology services transactions. Hands-on experience designing the commercial model for ongoing service delivery, rather than experience primarily focused on software licensing, SaaS/cloud subscriptions, hardware procurement, or other technology acquisition agreements. Strong experience with commercial pricing models, risk allocation, performance/incentive structures, transition arrangements, and complex negotiations. Ability to demonstrate personal responsibility for major commercial negotiations, including development of negotiation positions and trade-offs. Experience with SIAM/service integration, multi-provider service delivery, and associated commercial governance is highly desirable. Relevant professional credentials or training in commercial/contract management, IT service management, SIAM/service integration, complex commercial negotiation, outsourcing, or managed services are an asset. If you have the necessary expertise and able to work in Canada, please submit your resume. While we thank all candidates in advance for their application, only those shortlisted will be contacted.
