Job summary

New Value Solutions, a national IT consulting company, is seeking a Project Manager to support a portfolio of municipal IT, operational technology, public safety, and facilities-related technology projects. This role will oversee the delivery of technology enhancements across areas such as SCADA systems, waste management systems, field devices, meeting and conference room technology, and Operations Centre buildouts. The successful candidate will work with IT, Public Works, Engineering, Fire Rescue, Facilities, internal business stakeholders, external vendors, and project sponsors to coordinate delivery, adoption, implementation, and acceptance of assigned projects. Responsibilities: Manage and coordinate assigned IT, operational technology, public safety, and meeting room technology projects from initiation through delivery, implementation, and acceptance. Support projects involving SCADA systems, waste management systems, field device expansion, meeting and conference room technology, and Operations Centre buildouts. Work with multiple departments including IT, Public Works, Engineering, Fire Rescue, Facilities, and internal and external stakeholders. Prepare and maintain project charters, master project plans, project schedules, risk analyses, and risk management plans. Coordinate municipal resources, technical resources, vendors, and stakeholders to achieve project objectives. Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, quality, risks, issues, communications, and deliverables throughout the project lifecycle. Administer change control processes to communicate project changes and ensure stakeholders understand impacts to scope, schedule, cost, quality, and delivery. Prepare and present project governance materials, including status reports, dashboards, issue logs, risk registers, and decision materials. Provide project status reporting to IT Portfolio Managers, Senior Project Managers, IT leadership, sponsors, and other project stakeholders. Support change management, implementation planning, operational readiness, adoption, and transition activities. Support strategic communications, stakeholder engagement, organizational change management, and training plans to ensure end-user involvement and successful adoption. Work with IT Security, Privacy, and Records Management teams to ensure project deliverables adhere to data security, privacy, and records management standards. Facilitate communication across cross-disciplinary teams, stakeholder groups, vendors, and project sponsors, including situations involving competing priorities or differing interests. Use project management and collaboration tools to support project planning, tracking, reporting, communication, and documentation. Support projects of varying size and complexity, including public-sector projects over $1M in value or longer than one year in duration. Requirements: 5+ years of experience supporting IT projects. 2+ years of experience as a designated Project Manager. Experience preparing project charters, master project plans, risk analyses, and risk management plans. Experience coordinating municipal resources, technical resources, vendors, and business stakeholders to deliver project objectives. Experience managing project scope, timelines, budgets, quality, risks, issues, communications, and project deliverables. Experience administering project change controls and communicating changes to relevant stakeholders. Experience preparing and presenting project governance materials, including status reports, dashboards, issue logs, and risk registers. Experience supporting change management, implementation planning, stakeholder engagement, training, and operational transition activities. Experience providing project status reports to portfolio managers, senior project managers, IT leadership, and project sponsors. Experience supporting projects of varying size and complexity in a public-sector environment. Knowledge of how to work with IT Security, Privacy, and Records Management teams to ensure data security and privacy standards are followed. Proficiency with project management and collaboration tools, including Microsoft Project, Microsoft Teams, PowerPoint, Excel, and related technologies. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work effectively with cross-disciplinary teams, stakeholder groups, project sponsors, vendors, and technical resources. Ability to manage competing priorities and support project delivery in environments with differing stakeholder interests. Preferred Requirements: Project Management certification or designation such as CAPM, PMP, PgMP, or equivalent. Experience with Microsoft 365 technologies, including OneDrive, Outlook Cloud, SharePoint, Power BI, Visio, and Teams. Experience supporting Asset Management Program systems. Experience supporting SCADA or other Operational Technology systems. Experience supporting distributed cloud initiatives, including IaaS, PaaS, or SaaS. Experience supporting municipal, local government, utilities, public works, emergency services, facilities, or operational technology environments. Experience with Fire Rescue technology projects, Operations Centre buildouts, or operational field technology deployments.
