Registered with the PEO as a P.Eng, or currently pursuing P.Eng certification (e.g., EIT status or equivalent licensure in other jurisdictions). 5 years of experience in electrical design engineering, with a preference for experience in the nuclear or other highly regulated industries. Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, including control and instrumentation (I&C) systems. Proficiency in designing Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) for industrial installations, with relevant experience in field instrumentation such as sensors, transmitters, controllers, and control valves. Familiarity with PLCs, communication network protocols (copper and fiber media), power supplies, transducers, PID controllers, relays, power distribution devices, and experience with schematic capture, wire list, and BOM generation tools (e.g., AutoCAD, EPLAN, or similar design software). Proficiency in electrical design calculations, analysis, and related tools (e.g., ETAP, MATLAB, or equivalent simulation software). Experience leading design projects, managing timelines, budget, and quality assurance aspects. Familiarity with ASME pressure boundary instrumentation, CSA, IEEE, ISA, or related engineering standards. Experience with design tools and document management systems, including configuration/change control systems. Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor junior engineers and coordinate cross-functional technical teams. Strong skills in problem-solving, analysis, and troubleshooting complex design issues. Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interaction with clients, vendors, and internal teams. Commitment to continuous improvement, innovation, and fostering a culture of quality. NSI is particularly interested in people who enjoy working on a variety of work and who are keen to continue to develop their knowledge and expertise. If you believe you have the necessary knowledge, experience, and enthusiasm to succeed in this position, then we would like to hear from you.
