About

Nicola Valley Shelter and Support Society (NVSSS) is a grassroots non-profit organization based in Merritt, B.C., dedicated to helping individuals facing homelessness or housing insecurity. Since 2012, we have provided basic essential services—including a 24/7 emergency shelter, nutritious meals, case management, and outreach support—to marginalized and vulnerable populations in the Nicola Valley region. NVSSS goals are to work in close partnership with all levels of government and local service agencies, desiring to bridge gaps in the social safety net by coordinating housing supports, healthcare access, and employment services. This collaborative approach will ensure that those we serve receive comprehensive, wrap-around support tailored to their unique needs. We proudly work alongside Indigenous communities to deliver culturally grounded programs that honour traditional knowledge while creating pathways to stability. At NVSSS, we believe in breaking down systemic barriers and empowering people with dignity, respect and tools to rebuild their lives.
