Job summary
Our client is looking for an experienced Human Resources Manager to lead the HR function at an established, unionized operation in Central PEI. This is a great opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys being both strategic and hands-on and wants to have a meaningful impact on workforce planning, employee relations, labour relations, recruitment, retention, and organizational development. What You'll Be Doing: • Lead workforce planning, recruitment, retention, and succession planning • Manage labour and employee relations within a unionized environment • Administer and interpret collective agreement provisions • Manage grievances, investigations, discipline, and workplace issues • Advise managers and supervisors on HR and employee relations matters • Ensure compliance with employment standards, labour legislation, human rights, and other HR requirements • Develop and maintain HR policies, procedures, and programs • Oversee HR records, HRIS, reporting, and workforce metrics • Supervise HR staff and coordinate day-to-day HR operations • Support employee communications and engagement initiatives • Provide leadership with HR guidance and recommendations to support operational goals What We're Looking For: ✔ 5+ years of progressive HR experience ✔ Experience in a unionized environment ✔ Strong knowledge of labour relations and collective agreement administration ✔ Experience managing grievances and employee relations matters ✔ Knowledge of Canadian employment legislation and HR compliance ✔ Experience with recruitment, workforce planning, retention, and succession planning ✔ Strong communication, leadership, conflict resolution, and organizational skills ✔ HR-related post-secondary education ✔ CPHR/CHRP designation is an asset ✔ Knowledge of Canadian immigration and immigration pathways is an asset If you're an experienced HR professional looking for an opportunity where you can make a real impact on an organization's people strategy and day-to-day operations, we'd love to hear from you.
