We are seeking a Benefits & Pension Specialist to join our team to lead the administration of end-to-end employee benefits and retirement savings programs, providing expert guidance on plan administration, compliance, vendor management, employee support, reporting, and continuous program improvement. Responsibilities: Manage the effective administration of Benefit and Retirement Savings programs, including timely and accurate reconciliation and remittance of required payments, assistance to plan members in addressing any questions and concerns, ongoing monitoring of plan utilization and performance, and budgeting for the annual renewal. Provide consultative services to management, employees, and HR on many diverse benefit requests, including interpretation of benefit plans/policies and communication of provincial and federal regulations Administers employee enrollment processes including new enrollment, verify eligibility and participation, process invoices and audit/reconcile employee payroll deductions and contributions in coordination with payroll. Manage all day-to-day employee and vendor interactions, including resolving issues and continuously improving the plan member experience. Act as first point of contact for 3rd party benefit or pension administrators, carriers, and vendors. Enter data into various systems including payroll system and outside administrator systems. Develop educational and communication material to support the benefit program offerings. Compile routine reports and conducts analysis of employee benefits, pension, or salary information. Provide guidance to management, employees, and HR on a variety of benefit requests, including interpretation of benefit and pension plans. Management of anniversary program and discount programs. May be asked to participate in other HR team projects or initiatives as required. Must Haves and Nice to Haves What you bring: Minimum of 3 years relevant benefits administration experience including company provided medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance. Previous experience administering retirement savings plan programs including defined contribution pension plan, RRSPs and TFSA, from enrollment to termination. Experience performing routine HR administrative functions, such as data entry into HRIS system and processing employee LOAs. Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word suite.
