Position Summary Administrative Assistant, Centre for Education Your goal in this position is to provide coordination and administrative support of education programs through the Centre for Education. You will support the student and the teacher experience at North York General. You are able to carry out responsibilities with a high degree of professionalism. You have experience with undergraduate and/or postgraduate medical education programs. You have excellent communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills - the position requires frequent communication with medical trainees, educational program directors, undergraduate coordinators and staff and physicians. You have computer skills and facility with software applications commonly used in academic endeavours. You are able to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment. This position supports the hospital’s academic mandate by advancing care through teaching and learning and/or transforming care through research and innovation. This position contributes to the shared responsibility of ensuring health and safety policies are followed to provide for a healthy environment for patients, staff, physicians, volunteers and families. On a practical level, you will Coordinate and support student placement activities Support student registration and orientation Support the student space for teaching and learning activities Schedule medical students and teachers for teaching sessions, clinics, orientation, exams and other educational events Effectively communicate with the students and teaching faculty Liaise with University of Toronto, Peters Boyd Academy and other educational institutions as required Liaise with NYGH Program/Department Assistants with regard to trainee matters Facilitate program evaluation Provide information, problem solving and advice to students as needed Maintain and monitor the student Database Support learner data reporting Support faculty development events Provide administrative support for Education Committees and Councils Assist with maintaining the Education related intranet/internet Support the role of other Administrative Assistants/Education Coordinators, Centre for Education Liaise and correspond with the Professional Association of Interns and Residents of Ontario (PAIRO) as needed Provide administrative support to the Directors and Manager. Qualifications Bachelor of Arts or comparable postsecondary degree 2-3 years of administrative experience Experience working with external partners preferred Bilingualism in French/English an asset What We Offer Working at NYGH means working with a dynamic team of fellow healthcare providers, staff, and volunteers in one of Canada’s leading hospitals.
