Since 1984, North York Women's Shelter (NYWS) has operated a 30-bed emergency shelter. Our Mission: NYWS actively supports the rights of women and children to build lives free of violence by providing non-judgemental safe shelter, advocacy, and a range of programs & services including 24-hour crisis support. Our vision is to create a community characterized by gender equality where women and their children feel empowered and safe and all services are provided according the NYWS’s Trauma-Informed Key Principles.

Relief Children's Programmer

Facilitate age-appropriate educational and recreational programs for children and youth using trauma-informed and inquiry-based learning strategies. Maintain a safe, inclusive environment while providing direct support and documentation to ensure the social and emotional development of clients.

Kitchen Coordinator (Relief)

Coordinate and prepare nutritionally sound meals and snacks for clients in a gender-based violence shelter. Maintain strict health and safety standards while managing kitchen operations and food deliveries.
