Our client is a growing Canadian public accounting firm that is looking to hire an experienced Tax Director to join its leadership team. This is a 100% fully remote opportunity anywhere in Canada for a senior tax professional with extensive public accounting experience who can provide high-level tax advisory services, lead complex engagements, develop team members, and work closely with Partners and owner-managed business clients. The Opportunity The Tax Director will play a senior leadership role within the firm, overseeing complex Canadian tax matters and providing strategic tax advice to clients. You’ll work closely with Partners while leading tax engagements, supporting the development of the tax team, and building strong long-term client relationships. Key Responsibilities • Lead complex Canadian corporate and personal tax engagements • Provide strategic tax planning and advisory services to private companies and owner-managed businesses • Advise clients on corporate reorganizations and tax-efficient structures • Conduct and oversee complex tax research • Review corporate and personal income tax matters • Provide technical guidance on challenging tax issues • Work directly with Partners on advanced tax planning and consulting engagements • Manage and strengthen senior-level client relationships • Identify tax planning and advisory opportunities for clients • Review work prepared by Managers and other members of the tax team • Mentor, coach, and develop tax professionals • Support the continued development of the firm’s tax practice • Ensure engagements meet the firm’s quality standards and deadlines What We’re Looking For • Significant Canadian public accounting tax experience • CPA designation • Strong Canadian corporate and personal taxation knowledge • Advanced experience working with private companies and owner-managed businesses • Experience with tax planning, corporate reorganizations, and complex tax matters • Previous experience managing and developing tax professionals • Strong technical tax research capabilities • Excellent client relationship and advisory skills • Ability to communicate complex tax matters clearly to clients • Strong leadership, judgment, and organizational skills • Ability to operate independently in a fully remote environment • Completion of the CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Program is highly desirable Compensation & Work Arrangement $160,000–$200,000 per year 100% Fully Remote – Canada Full-Time, Permanent This opportunity would be particularly attractive to an experienced Senior Tax Manager or Tax Director looking for a senior leadership position with significant client exposure and the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere in Canada.

Requirements

Requires significant Canadian public accounting tax experience, a CPA designation, and advanced knowledge of corporate and personal taxation, including tax planning and reorganizations for private and owner-managed businesses. Candidates should have experience leading and developing tax professionals, strong research and client advisory skills, and the ability to work independently; completion of the CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Program is highly desirable.
