Term of App't: Regular, Part time (15 hours per week) Start date: Immediately Reporting to: Associate Dean of Academic & Vocational Programs Salary $40,789.00 – $44,268.00 annual starting wage, depending on experience and qualifications as per the BCGEU Faculty Collective Agreement (annual increments up to a maximum salary of $ 57,000.50). Vacation entitlement is 120 hours annually (pro-rated and front-loaded from hire date for current year). We offer paid time off between Christmas and New Year's, and an excellent extended health and dental package. There is an opportunity to enroll in the College Pension Plan with contributions matched by the employer. Description NLC's Career and College Preparation program requires an instructor to deliver courses across NLC's Adult Basic Education curriculum. Subject areas include Computer Studies, English, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. It is particularly important that the successful candidate be able to provide assistance to students in a multi-level, multi-disciple study-block learning environment. Teaching assignments may include a mix of on-campus and online assignments. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (e.g. Education or related discipline). Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Intermediate proficiency with a current version of Microsoft Office. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated commitment to student motivation and success. Valid Class 7N driver's license. Preferred Master's degree in Adult Basic Education, or a relevant field. Instructional experience at the secondary or post-secondary level. Credential in Adult Education, such as the Provincial Instructor Diploma Program (completed or in progress). Experience teaching culturally diverse groups of students, including Indigenous and international students.
