The Northern Shuswap Tribal Council (NSTC) is made up of four Northern Secwepemc te Qelmucw (NStQ) communities, Tsq’ēsceń (Canim Lake), Stswēceḿc/Xgāt’tem (Canoe-Dog Creek), Xatśūll Cmetem’ (Soda-Deep Creek) and T’ēxelc (Williams Lake a.k.a. Sugar Cane). The NSTC presently provides advisory services to NStQ Band Councils and Administrations of the four communities. The NSTC also works collectively and collaboratively on matters of common concern to its four member communities.

The Governance Coordinator facilitates the transition of Northern Secwepemc te Qelmucw member communities toward post-Treaty self-government. This involves strategic planning, organizing community consultations, and developing communication tools to support the move away from the Indian Act.
