Discover The Opportunity Halifax, NS Information Technology Entry Level Full-time Competition Number: 2627-180 Benefits Health Insurance Dental Insurance Paid Time Off Retirement Plans Pension plan Life Insurance Disability Insurance Employee Assistance Program Tuition Aid Wellness Programs Operational Support Digital Technology Analyst (CS12) School of Applied Technology and Innovation Continuing, Full-Time Position: Commencing approximately October 21, 2026 Application deadline is 11:59PM, September 22, 2026 Competition No. 2627-180 Salary range: $67,577.48 - $81,994.04 annually Share What you'll do Responsibilities Reporting to the School Manager for the School of Applied Technology and Innovation, and working closely with the Digital Technology Lead, you will: Provide IT students, faculty, and staff across the province with highly specialized IT support via phone, e-mail, and in-person. Record daily work activities using a departmental ticket management system, ensure accurate opening and closing of tickets, providing appropriate information that supports overall service analysis and long-term planning. Provide primary technical support for IT Faculty across the province who teach using the College's Collaborative Network (CCN). You will support service requests, analyze potential solutions and risks, as well as troubleshoot user access to network accounts. Research sources/costs, order and maintain inventory of computer supplies for day-to-day usage. Assist with the installation and maintenance of hardware and software in the CCN computer labs and IT faculty computers. You will work to support the CCN network and equipment used for educational purposes. What you'll need Qualifications Qualifications and Occupational Experience: The minimum educational qualification for this position is a diploma or degree in Information Technology, Systems/Networking, Computer Science, or a related field. Possessing one or more of the following certifications would be considered an asset: Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundations Version /4/5, Microsoft Fundamentals in Azure/365 and/or Network+, or A+. This is an entry-level position. We welcome applications from recent graduates. Experience in customer service and satisfaction related field. Experience with mobile phones and computing devices. Experience in the administration and troubleshooting of virtual operating systems and infrastructure for desktop and server environments. One year of experience in planning, testing, troubleshooting stand-alone and networked (wired and wireless) computer systems or recognized equivalencies, would be considered an asset. You are familiar with and comfortable using computer applications such as the Microsoft Office Suite, e-mail, Office 365, Windows, Robopack, Azure, Mac and PC platforms, basic networking and troubleshooting (Active Directory, TCP/IP), hardware repair and troubleshooting. You are comfortable working in a digital environment; you take responsibility for acquiring knowledge about advancing technology; and you are committed to using technology in advancing your work. Experience in training/facilitation preparation, delivery, and evaluation would be considered an asset. Experience supporting/providing service to students and prospective students would be considered an asset. A valid driver's license is required. You possess strong problem solving, organization and multi-tasking skills. You have strong project management skills so that you can independently manage maintenance and updating of hardware and software while supporting end users technical support. You demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in communications within a team, customer service and ensuring fully functional labs and systems. You are dedicated to life-long learning; technologies change constantly in our programs and the incumbent must be committed to keeping up-to-date with new versions of software and hardware, and emerging technologies and software.
