Req ID: 226652Location: Central Zone, East Coast Forensic Hospital Department: MHA CZ Rehab Services-Forensic/OffHthType of Employment: Permanent Hourly FT (100%) x 1 Union: MGMT/NON-Union Management/Non Union PositionPosting Closing Date: 29-Sep-26About the Opportunity Reporting to the designated Director, Central Zone Mental Health and Addictions Program (CZ MHAP), and working as part of the East Coast Forensic Hospital (ECFH) Clinical Leadership Council (CLC), the Health Services Manager (HSM) provides operational and administrative leadership for the Rehabilitation Units (Rehab A & B) at the East Coast Forensic Hospital. The HSM plays a key role in the day-to-day delivery of safe, high-quality, person-centred rehabilitation services while supporting a healthy, engaged, and psychologically safe workplace. HSM provides leadership in operational performance, workforce development, service innovation, and continuous improvement, fostering accountability, collaboration, and excellence to ensure effective, consistent, and sustainable service delivery. The manager work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team in achieving Accreditation Standards and adherence to organizational policies and procedures. The HSM demonstrates sound professional judgment and initiative while aligning practice with the ECFH Model of care, objectives of the MHAP and the Mission, Vision, and Strategic Directions of Nova Scotia Health. The HSM reflects NS Health’s Core Competencies and values of Excellence, Integrity, Respect, Accountability, and Leadership in daily practice.About You We would love to hear from you if you have the following: Bachelor’s degree from a health discipline from accredited institution A master's degree or Leadership certificate is considered an asset Must be registered with the relevant health discipline college/association Minimum five (5) years recent experience in a leadership and/or management position with responsibilities related to program planning, evaluation, human resource and financial management within a unionized environment Formal leadership experience within a health-care environment; experience in mental health and addictions preferred Demonstrated experience in operational planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and service improvement Strong critical thinking, systems thinking, problem-solving, conflict-resolution, and decision-making skills Exceptional communication, interpersonal, partnership-building, and relationship-management skills Demonstrated commitment to a culture of respect, inclusion, cultural awareness, safety, ethics, employee engagement, and workplace well-being Knowledge of health-care standards, legislation, ethics, accreditation requirements, and NS Health policies Demonstrated ability to use performance indicators and data to inform decision-making and service improvement Demonstrated proficiency with electronic communication, Clinical Information Systems (CIS), Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant information and technology systems Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective collaborative relationships and partnerships with clients, and key internal and external partners Demonstrated self-motivation, self-direction, leadership, team development, organizational and facilitation skills Physical and mental capabilities to perform the duties of the position such as working irregular hours and under pressure to meet strict deadlines Valid Nova Scotia Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle, with ability and willingness to travel between sites and attend meetings and activities across the Zone and province as required Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred Please ensure your resume is up to date and includes all relevant education, experience, training, and certifications.Hours Permanent full-time position; 75 hours biweeklyCompensation and Benefits Pay Scale Type: ManagementBand: MGT06Hourly Rate: $53.59 - $65.64Annual Salary: $104,500.50 - $128,017.50Successful candidates may be eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, which includes health, dental, and travel insurance; long-term disability and life insurance coverage; and a defined benefit pension plan.
