What you'll do As a QC Officer, you will be responsible for executing in-process and finished product quality verification activities within a 24/7 manufacturing environment. You will conduct quality monitoring, sampling, testing, and product disposition activities to ensure compliance with regulatory, food/feed safety, and internal quality standards. Acting as a frontline quality resource for operations, you will identify, escalate, and help resolve product quality risks while ensuring adherence to CFIA, FeedAssure, and FSSC-aligned programs. This role plays a critical part in maintaining product integrity, supporting continuous operations, and ensuring safe, quality products are delivered to our customers. Who we're looking for We're looking for a detail-oriented quality professional who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and is passionate about food and feed safety. You are a strong communicator and problem solver who can work independently while collaborating effectively with operations and quality teams. You enjoy being hands-on, making real-time quality decisions, and continuously improving processes to support operational excellence and regulatory compliance. You'll also need Diploma/Degree in Food Science, Animal Science, Biology, or related field (preferred) Experience in feed, pet food, or food manufacturing environments Strong understanding of HACCP, GMPs, and regulatory requirements Ability to work in rotating shifts (days/nights, 7 days/week) Strong attention to detail, data integrity, and documentation accuracy Effective communication and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently in a fast-paced production environment Computer proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel Ability to work with minimal supervision Creative problem-solving and forward-thinking abilities Ability to climb multiple flights of stairs, climb ladders, and lift up to 55 lbs Key Responsibilities Lead quality execution at daily shift meetings Perform hourly line checks and monitor CCPs/OPRPs Conduct sampling for ingredients, finished feed, and environmental testing Prepare and ship external laboratory samples Monitor COAs and specifications in real time Execute hold/release processes including tagging, segregation, and system updates Support operators with quality deviation troubleshooting Manage retained samples and traceability Verify sanitation effectiveness, including ATP testing Provide off-shift support for urgent testing activities such as micro tracers and VOM analysis Collaborate with the QC Officer Lead to continuously improve QC processes Ensure consistent product quality, regulatory compliance, and real-time quality decision-making in a 24/7 production environment What you'll receive As part of Nutreco, you'll be a member of the SHV family, a diverse group of companies with global footprint.
