Veterinary Technician Practicum

At TIVS we always aim to have our RVTs use the full range of their skills. Our clinic prides ourselves on a 'Team Approach' to medicine as well as decision making for the hospital. We want everyone to know that their voice matters. NVA Canada’s VT Practicum Program offers final-year veterinary technician students the chance to gain real-world experience in a supportive, dynamic environment. Work alongside experienced veterinarians and RVTs at in to develop your clinical skills in patient care, laboratory procedures, anesthesia, surgical assistance, radiology and more. Enhance your communication abilities with medical teams and clients, preparing you for a successful career as an RVT. Practicums range from two to eight weeks, fitting your schedule and career goals. Eligible students—those enrolled in an accredited VT program in Canada and completing their final practicum in their final year ——can receive a stipend to help with travel expenses, allowing you to focus on learning without financial worries. The Veterinary Technician Practicum involves gaining real-world experience in various clinical skills such as patient care and laboratory procedures. Students will work alongside experienced veterinarians and RVTs to enhance their communication abilities with medical teams and clients.

Eligible candidates must be final-year veterinary technician students enrolled in an accredited VT program in Canada. The position is designed to help students develop their clinical skills in a supportive environment.
