We are currently looking for an experienced and safety conscious Equipment Hauling Driver- Class 1 to work in a seasonal-full time capacity in and around the City of Edmonton. In this position, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient & safe delivery or pick up of equipment required for various road building processes. You will ensure a high level of satisfaction by receiving & fulfilling all equipment orders according to job/project demands. You will also be working closely with the Equipment Dispatcher & Logistics Foreman to ensure the delivery of equipment is achieved in the most efficient & professional manner. The successful candidate must be able to align with the company's core values: Commitment, Attitude and Respect. Responsibilities: * Driving equipment hauling truck in the most efficient & safest manner following transportation driving laws * Safe loading and unloading of various pieces of equipment * Perform the necessary pre/post trip inspections on vehicles * Work with company to ensure safety compliance is adhered to at all times in accordance with OH&S * Regular communication with the Equipment Dispatcher & various on-site Foreman * Attend and contribute to weekly safety meetings * Daily/weekly greasing, maintenance & washing of trucks & trailers * Other duties as required. Qualifications: * Minimum of 3-years of experience in equipment hauling in a medium to large organization within a municipality/city; * Completion of Grade 12 or high school diploma; * Previous experience in hauling of construction equipment (paving, milling, concrete, base); Previous operation of 10 Axle unit is an asset; * Ability to work in varying weather conditions & long hours; * Ability to utilize smartphones, WhatsApp and possess some computer competence * Competent Driver/Defensive Driver; * Ability to work independently or with little supervision; * Willingness and ability to work extended hours and weekends; * Some knowledge of the municipal road building industry an asset; * Familiarity & experience with city driving and surrounding areas considered an asset. Required Certifications and Licenses: * Valid Class 1 driver’s license with a clean drivers abstract is required. * Load Securement Certificate would be an asset. * Pre/Post-Trip training required. Additional Information: * This is a full-time seasonal position * Candidates must be open to long working hours * This position is eligible for over-time * Some travel outside of Edmonton may be required * Training will be provided for various activities * We offer excellent wages and benefits · Potential on call work during the winter months during snow removal and early spring sweeping season. Requirements
Candidates must hold a valid Class 1 driver's license with a clean abstract and have at least 3 years of experience in equipment hauling. A high school diploma is required, and experience with 10-axle units is considered an asset.
