Job summary

About the role: Under the supervision of the Hardware Director, the Radio Frequency Hardware Designer will assist in the design of radio frequency systems and the debugging of existing RF products. As part of a team, you will be asked to design various radio frequency cards according to the requests of the PLM Team. You will be required to travel up to twice a year. What you'll do: Participate in the development of the architecture of new RF products Carry out analysis of transmission and reception chains; Write hardware and software system requirements to ensure the proper functioning of the RF system; Develop system test plans and produce analysis of results; Optimize gain controls and power detection; Design RF card; Schema capture; Participate in hardware and software design reviews; Technical management of subcontractors: Review of specifications, design review, audit, and evaluation; Second line support for production and customers. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering; Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in RF circuit design operating up to 6 GHz; Excellent knowledge of radio frequency transmission and reception chain analysis; Interference analysis and management capability to optimize system performance in a hostile RF environment; Good knowledge of non-linear effects caused by high power RF amplifiers; Good understanding of analog and software control loops; Communicate effectively in French and English (oral and written) with our customers; Good understanding of laboratory equipment (RF test equipment, Spectrum analyzer, VNA, etc.). Assets: Excellent knowledge of specialized software such as Microwave office, PAD; Knowledge of cellular telephone technologies (GSM, CDMA, UMTS, LTE, etc.); Ability to explain fundamental radio frequency principles in layman’s terms; Experience in microwave and millimeter wave circuit design; Familiar with FCC/ISED/3GPP standards for cellular products; Experience in spectral emission conformation and EMC.

Requirements

Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and at least 7 years of experience in RF circuit design up to 6 GHz. Proficiency with RF test equipment and the ability to communicate effectively in English and French are required.
