Friendly Fast Foods Inc. in Vernon, BC is seeking an Accounting Technician to start immediately. Wage: $28.00 per hour Hours Per Week: 32-40 Language: English Education: College diploma in accounting, bookkeeping, or equivalent Experience: 1–2 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience Benefits include: optional employee-contributed extended health and dental benefits, including pharmaceuticals, paramedical services, vision care, life insurance, and other group benefits. ROLE The Accounting Technician is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the day-to-day accounting functions of the organization. This role contributes to the financial integrity of the company through proper recordkeeping, reporting, and compliance with applicable legislation and company policies. RESPONSIBILITIES Accounting & Bookkeeping Maintain financial records and establish, maintain, and balance accounts using manual and computerized systems Post journal entries and reconcile accounts, including bank and credit card reconciliations Prepare trial balances and assist with financial statements and working papers Maintain general ledgers and ensure accurate financial data Accounts Payable & Receivable Process invoices, verify transactions, and manage accounts payable Prepare and issue invoices and follow up on receivables and collections Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies Payroll & Compliance Assist with payroll preparation, including calculating wages and deductions Prepare and submit statutory remittances including payroll deductions, GST/PST, and other filings Ensure compliance with federal and provincial legislation Reporting & Administration Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures Generate financial and management reports as required Maintain organized and secure filing systems Provide general administrative support to the accounting department REQUIREMENTS Completion of a college program in accounting, bookkeeping, or a related field, or equivalent experience Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a similar role Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or equivalent) and Microsoft Excel Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes High level of attention to detail and accuracy Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team WORKING CONDITIONS Office-based environment Extended periods of computer and desk work May require additional hours during peak reporting periods ABOUT US We are a dynamic and growing organization committed to operational excellence and strong financial stewardship.
