Job Title: Family Navigator Program: Early Intervention Service Enhancements (EIS) Location: Oliver Employment Status: Temp Full Time non-union Hours: 32 hours/week Contract End Date: January 13, 2027 Closing Date: September 17, 2026 Job Summary The family navigator is a person who actively helps navigate systems on behalf of children 6 years of age or younger who have been identified as having a health or developmental need. Services and support are intended to promote healthy development, maximize positive outcomes and assist families in their role as the primary caregivers. They may include physical, behavioral and mental health challenges as well as complex care needs and the work may happen in community, in the home, or in an early years centre. The family navigator will work from the following frameworks: strengths-based, family centered, trauma-informed, culturally sensitive. Responsibilities The family navigator confirms and ensures families in need have knowledge of and access to resources and supports necessary to meet their children’s need for better health and wellbeing. Program components will include solution focused techniques and approaches to manage family situations, enhance parenting and child safety, increase appropriate decision making, and encouraging the appropriate use of community resources. Plays a key role in ensuring the Centre offers a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment that facilitates family engagement and participation. Through observation, identifies and assesses potential emergency situations and helps develop short-term strategies to deal with such situations. Provides feedback and input regarding clients’ needs, performance and progress Activities may include: Offer rapid response (within 48 hours) when a family/service provider has requested assistance Listen and provide confidential emotional support Help families with goal setting Empower families to make informed choices that are right for them Assess family’s needs and strengths Provide case management while enhancing links to eternal service providers Develop relationships with community organizations Collect assessment and referral information Provide or support topical training for families, school staff and community connections Provide support in one-on-one or group settings Be a staff in the family education/resource center Role model and coach families how to identify and access the supports they need Refer families to community resources Refer families to therapy services (physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech language pathologist, behaviour intervention/services) Help families understand medical health evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment process Explain processes, rights and responsibilities process and timeliness of services Provide guidance with forms and paperwork Support the family’s role in the IEP plan, if applicable, Support transition, safety, and re-entry planning Identify relevant benefits programs, support enrollment as appropriate Engage in community outreach and awareness events Completes and maintains related records and documentation Services will be delivered in family homes, in a community setting, and/or the agency or Ministry of Children and Family Development office. Attends and participates in team meetings, case conferences and agency initiatives Responsibilities to the Agency Maintains a commitment to maintaining inclusive quality service environments that provides clients with respect, and value their choices and abilities Maintains confidentiality Supports and maintains CQI initiatives and accreditation requirements Participates in OneSky meetings and events as required Supports the mission, vision and values of OneSky Performs any related duties which may be assigned and/or required to maintain the operations and integrity of the program. Required Qualifications Bachelor of Social Work or equivalent, two years recent, related experience OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience Familiarity with the Child, Family and Community Services Act Knowledge of Indigenous history and culture Current First Aid Certificate (with CPR) Valid BC Class 5 Driver's license, reliable vehicle and clean driver’s abstract Signed Confidentiality Agreement Adherence to OneSky policies and procedures, program operations manual and commitment to Code of Ethics Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Demonstrated understanding of the value of peer/client involvement Ability to work independently and in cooperation with others Ability to organize and prioritize, and to work well under pressure or in difficult circumstances Well developed communication and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to provide constructive feedback and input Ability to establish rapport with clients, families and support networks, and to maintain supportive, collaborative relationships Demonstrated ability to recognize changes in people and communicate those changes to others on the care team Demonstrated problem solving and decision-making skills and the ability to gather and process information to support clients, families/support networks and/or the care team Basic knowledge of computer skills and social media Willing to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends Please note: You will receive an automated confirmation email from "notifications@app.bamboohr.com" after submitting your application. Requirements

Candidates must hold a Bachelor of Social Work or equivalent, along with at least two years of recent, related experience. A valid BC Class 5 Driver's license and a current First Aid/CPR certificate are also required.
