Position Overview: Reporting Directly to the Manager of our Municipal Engineering Division, through a motivated and dynamic team of professionals located in our Abbotsford Office. The successful Civil Engineering Technologist will be involved in municipal and land development projects and will possess a strong background designing municipal infrastructure. Successful applicants will participate in the provision of engineering services from the proposal stage through planning, surveying, design, construction, and commissioning of projects. Major Job Functions: Conducting site surveys utilizing total station and RTK GPS equipment. Preparing and coordinating engineering drawings for municipal infrastructure projects including roads, stormwater, sanitary sewer, water distribution, and site servicing works. Preparing and coordinating project drawings and reports Site and construction inspections Project management and contract administration Specific Skills and Knowledge: Flexibility, organizational and time management skills Excellent attention to detail, work accuracy/numeracy and quality orientated Strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to build positive relationships across all levels of business. Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines. Effective problem-solver with strong analytical skills A committed and positive attitude along with an obvious customer focus and the ability to build a positive rapport with customers. Education and Experience: 3-10 years of experience in municipal engineering and land development projects. Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or equivalent experience Registered or eligible for registration with ASTTBC as a C.Tech., AScT, Proficient in the use of AutoCAD Civil3D and/or AutoCAD LT Salary: $65,000-$110,000 annually, plus benefits, based on an 80-hour bi-weekly pay period. Actual compensation within the range will be determined based on job-related factors such as engineering experience, certification level (AScT/CTech) and scope of responsibilities.
