Job details

Company Description Ontario Dig Authority, formerly Ontario One Call, is the regulatory body for Ontario’s excavating community, focused on promoting safe digging practices and “click before you dig” awareness. The organization operates a centralized locate request system that connects individuals and companies planning to dig with buried infrastructure owners across the province. Under the Ontario Underground Infrastructure Notification System Act (2012), it is a legal requirement for anyone in Ontario to contact Ontario Dig Authority before excavating. While the organization does not physically mark underground lines, it relays all dig information so infrastructure owners can provide locates, helping to prevent damage, service interruptions, and injury. Role Description As a Process Improvement Specialist, you will analyze current business processes, identify inefficiencies, and recommend data-driven improvements that support safe digging operations and regulatory compliance. You will map workflows, gather requirements from stakeholders, document process changes, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and monitor new procedures. The role includes preparing reports and dashboards, facilitating workshops or training sessions, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the organization. This is a full-time, hybrid role based in Sudbury, ON, with a combination of on-site work and some work-from-home flexibility. Qualifications Strong business process skills, including Business Process Improvement and Business Process mapping. Proficiency in Process Optimization and the ability to design and refine workflows. Well-developed Analytical Skills for assessing performance metrics and identifying root causes. Effective Communication skills for collaborating with teams, documenting processes, and presenting recommendations. Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) is an asset. Post-secondary education in business, operations management, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Comfort with using business tools such as process mapping software, data analysis tools, and standard office applications.
