Position Details Position Title: Account Manager Department: Finance Location: Kathmandu, Nepal Reports To: VP / General Manager – Finance & Accounts Position Purpose The purpose of this role is to ensure accurate and timely accounting operations, statutory compliance, and financial reporting for the Nepal entity. The position is responsible for maintaining complete and reliable financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring compliance with local tax, regulatory, and corporate requirements, supporting audits, and safeguarding financial controls. The role contributes to the organization’s financial integrity by delivering accurate financial information, ensuring adherence to legal and company policies, and supporting business operations through efficient accounting and compliance management. Key Responsibilities Financial Accounting & Reporting Manage day-to-day accounting operations and maintain accurate financial records. Process accounts payable, accounts receivable, payments, and invoicing activities. Perform bank reconciliations and monthly account closing. Prepare and review Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss reports. Manage fixed asset accounting and monthly asset processing activities. Taxation & Statutory Compliance Ensure compliance with Nepali VAT laws and regulations. Manage Nepali Income Tax compliance, assessments, and reporting. Prepare and file: VAT Returns TDS Returns Income Tax Returns OCR compliance filings Local body compliances Business licenses and other statutory requirements EXIM-related compliances Financial Control & Budgeting Support budgeting and forecasting activities. Perform cost center planning and monitoring. Prepare cost sheets and project cost analysis. Calculate Percentage of Completion (POC) for projects. Ensure adherence to company policies and internal controls. Audit & Financial Statements Coordinate Nepali Statutory Audits and Tax Audits. Prepare and support IFRS-based quarterly and annual financial reporting. Manage subsidiary financial statements and year-end closing requirements. Liaise with internal and external auditors. Stakeholder Coordination Coordinate with banks for Bank Guarantees (BG), Letters of Credit (LC), and related documentation. Liaise with customs authorities, regulatory bodies, customers, vendors, and government agencies. Work closely with project, procurement, taxation, treasury, HR, and corporate finance teams. Required Skills & Expertise The ideal candidate should possess: Strong knowledge of Nepali VAT laws and compliance requirements. Thorough understanding of Nepali Income Tax regulations, assessments, and statutory obligations. Hands-on working experience in SAP, including: Accounting T-Codes Controlling T-Codes Fixed Asset Accounting Monthly Processing Activities Practical experience in: Purchase and sales accounting Accounts payable and receivable Payment processing Invoicing Bank reconciliation Monthly and annual closing activities Knowledge of budgeting, cost control, and financial planning. Familiarity with IFRS reporting standards. Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Required Qualifications & Experience Qualified or Semi-Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA), or Postgraduate Degree in Commerce, Finance, or Accounting. Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in: Manufacturing companies, Corporate organizations, or Chartered Accountancy firms. Preferred Academic background in Commerce and Local Laws. Exposure to multinational business environments. Experience in project-based industries, engineering, infrastructure, or renewable energy sectors will be an added advantage. Working Relationships The position reports directly to the VP / General Manager – Finance & Accounts and works closely with: Country Manager Commercial Project Management Teams Human Resources Procurement Teams Treasury & Taxation Functions Corporate Finance Teams External Auditors Regulatory Authorities Banking Partners Customers and Vendors The role may also provide functional guidance and support to finance and accounting team members while ensuring effective coordination across internal and external stakeholders. Requirements
Requires a qualified or semi-qualified Chartered Accountant or a postgraduate degree in Commerce, Finance, or Accounting. Candidates must have at least 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in manufacturing or project-based industries, with proficiency in SAP.
