Role Description This is a full-time on-site role in ottawa, ON, for a Veterinary Technician at Ottawa Barrhaven Animal Hospital. The Veterinary Technician will perform a range of responsibilities, including providing high-quality medical care to animals, assisting veterinarians during examinations and procedures, monitoring anesthetics, educating clients regarding their pets' health, and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the clinic. The role involves supporting surgical procedures, administering medications, and ensuring the well-being of all patients under care. Qualifications Experience in Animal Care and Pet Care to ensure the health, safety, and comfort of all animals. Proficiency in Veterinary Technology, including diagnostic tools, surgical support, and medication administration. Strong Client Education skills to guide pet owners on preventive care, treatments, and ongoing wellness plans for their pets. Knowledge of Anesthesiology and anesthetic monitoring to ensure safe and successful surgical procedures. Ability to work in a team-oriented and fast-paced clinical environment with excellent communication skills. Completion of an accredited Veterinary Technician or Animal Health program and active RVT designation (or eligibility) is preferred. Previous clinical experience in a veterinary hospital or similar setting is an asset.
