The Laser Operator is responsible for operating laser cutting equipment to produce quality parts in a safe and efficient manner. This role includes loading materials, running production programs, monitoring machine performance, and inspecting finished parts to ensure quality and production standards are met. Responsibilities Set up and prepare the laser cutting machine for production, including selecting tools, checking machine settings, and ensuring proper alignment. Inspect and prepare materials for cutting, ensuring they meet quality standards and are correctly loaded onto the machine. Operate the laser cutting machine safely and efficiently, including loading and unloading materials and monitoring machine performance. Inspect finished parts for accuracy and quality using measuring tools and visual checks before submitting them to Quality Control. Make adjustments as needed to maintain cutting quality and meet production requirements. Work closely with team members and other departments to meet production schedules and quality expectations. Requirements & Qualifications Strong understanding of laser cutting equipment, machine controls, and production processes. Knowledge of sheet metal materials, including different grades, thicknesses, and cutting requirements. Ability to read and interpret work orders, drawings, and production specifications. Attention to detail with a focus on producing accurate, high-quality parts. Basic problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and report production or equipment issues. Knowledge of quality control procedures, including the use of measuring tools and visual inspections to verify part accuracy. Understanding of laser safety requirements and safe work practices. Ability to work efficiently while meeting production targets and cycle time expectations. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Effective communication and teamwork skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments. Employment Details Starting Wage: Dependent on skills and experience. Shift Schedule: Afternoon Shift, Monday to Thursday, 2:30pm to 1:00am. Full-time employment. Benefits after 3-month probationary period.
