We are seeking a skilled Access Control Network Technician who can confidently handle a variety of field tasks across access control, structured cabling, and basic networking. This role is ideal for a well-rounded technician who can work independently, maintain quality, and take ownership of smaller scopes on-site. ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: * Complete access control field device installations (readers, strikes, maglocks, REX, door contacts) * Perform suite rough-in and device plating in multi-residential environments * Install, terminate, and test E-Com (emergency communication) systems * Run, terminate, and test copper cabling (Cat5e/Cat6) * Pull, terminate, and test fiber optic cabling * Perform basic troubleshooting for: * Access control systems * Network connectivity (IP devices, switches, patching issues) * Read and follow drawings, risers, and device layouts * Maintain clear and accurate documentation * Lead and complete small scopes of work independently SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS * 3+ years experience in basic networking / structured cabling / access control * Strong hands-on experience with access control installations * Experience in multi-residential or high-rise construction projects * Ability to complete work with minimal supervision * Strong troubleshooting mindset and attention to detail * Organized and capable of keeping track of work and deficiencies * Good communication and teamwork skills ASSETS * Experience with systems such as ICT, Salto, or similar * Experience with fiber termination and testing equipment * Experience with active network equipment (IP addressing, VLAN, Subnetting) * Experience with E-Comm, DAS, Cellular Booster and Wifi deployment. * TQ certification (asset only, not required) WHAT WE OFFER: * Steady work on large multi-residential and commercial projects * Opportunity to grow into lead/senior positions * Supportive team environment with long-term career potential ADDITIONAL NOTES OZZ Electric is an equal opportunity employer and encourages women, Aboriginal and Indigenous persons, persons with disabilities and members of visible minorities to apply.
