Job summary

Ozz Electric is looking for a Senior Payroll Administrator to join the team! ROLE The Payroll Administrator is responsible for providing superior full-cycle payroll administration for our unionized and office staff, including not limited balancing payroll, preparing required fillings and processing year-end. RESPONSIBILITIES Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: * Full cycle payroll administration for payrolls located in Ontario, British Columbia and Washington USA including time data validation and import, payroll profile maintenance, retro calculations and ROE processing per Union collective Agreement and Electrician Apprenticeship Program. * Responsible for Union reporting and inquiries. * Coordinate with the Human Resources Department to maintain electrician’s level and retro increase accordingly. * JE posting and GL reconciliations for payroll related accounts. Assist with ad-hoc requests received from the Accounting Department. * Reconciliation and processing of all required fillings, including but not limited to Source Deductions, WSIB, EHT, 941, 940, US Union, ON Union, FRO/Garnishments, RRSP, etc. * Respond to all employee enquiries as required and maintain employment files. * All other duties as assigned to meet Company objectives. SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS * 3-5 years of experience and knowledge of all aspects of full-cycle payroll administration. * Experience performing full cycle payroll administration in a unionized environment is an asset. * PCP certification or current enrolment is an asset. * University degree in Business/Accounting is an asset. * Experience with Jonas payroll system is an asset. * Thorough knowledge of all relevant Federal, Provincial and Local Legislative Requirements. * Proficient communication, interpersonal and organizational skills are vital to the role. KEY COMPETENCIES * Advanced knowledge of MS Office. * Advanced knowledge of Excel. * Professional written and verbal communication skills. * Good problem-solving skills and the ability to make the necessary decisions to move forward the work at hand. * Able to work well under pressure and meet set deadlines. * Good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills. * Attention to detail in all areas of work. * Proven commitment; a team player. * Able to work independently. WORKING CONDITIONS * Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals. * Overtime as required. * Lifting or moving up to 10lbs may be required.
