In this role, you will report directly to the Director of Public Relations and Regulatory Affairs and play a key role in executing PSI’s regulatory compliance activities. Your primary responsibilities will include independently reviewing products and promotional materials, interpreting regulatory requirements, providing compliance guidance, and supporting the development and continuous improvement of PSI’s regulatory compliance systems. The Regulatory Compliance Specialist will: * Liaise with manufacturers worldwide on the development of compliant product labels and packaging that meet Canadian regulatory requirements. * Independently review and approve product labels and packaging in accordance to the Regulatory compliance set out in the Tobacco Vaping Products Act (TVPA) and Consumer Product Labelling Act (CPLA). * Review and approve promotional and marketing materials, including websites, social media content, and POS materials in accordance to the Vaping Products Labelling and Packaging Regulations (VPLPR) and Vaping Products Promotions Regulations (VPPR) set out in the TVPA. * Interpret federal and provincial regulatory requirements and provide practical compliance guidance to internal teams and external manufacturers. * Review, verify, and prepare product and ingredient information required for reporting to Health Canada as per Vaping products Reporting Regulation (VPRR). * Create and deliver compliance training for manufacturers and internal departments. * Source, manage and maintain (using available systems) all required master documentation for all labelling and packaging, a requirement for the release of products to the market * Develop, organize, manage, and maintain quality systems, SOPs, regulatory records, and associated processes. * Maintain accurate, complete, and easily retrievable electronic and paper records to support regulatory compliance and Health Canada inspections. * Lead or actively participate in product compliance meetings and communicate regulatory risks, findings, and recommendations. * Collaborate with Warehouse, Purchasing, Product Development, Marketing, and other departments to ensure alignment on regulatory requirements. * Assess and support product compliance with applicable federal and provincial vaping requirements, the Customs Act, and the Excise Act, 2001. * Investigate compliance issues, recommend corrective actions, and monitor their implementation. * Takes on and supports special projects and new regulatory compliance initiatives as assigned. * Provide guidance and support to junior Regulatory Compliance team members as needed. * Perform other duties as required. To be successful, you should have: * A bachelor’s degree in science, regulatory affairs, quality assurance, or another relevant discipline. * A minimum of two to three years of relevant experience in regulatory compliance, quality assurance, quality control, or consumer-product packaging and labelling. * Strong working knowledge of Health Canada requirements and applicable Canadian packaging, labelling, promotion, and reporting regulations. * Experience interpreting regulatory requirements and applying them to products and business activities. * Experience independently reviewing compliance documentation and making risk-based recommendations. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. * Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and document-control practices. * Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. * The ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects while meeting regulatory and product-launch timelines. * Strong interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills. * The confidence to provide clear compliance guidance to internal stakeholders and external manufacturers. * Experience developing SOPs or delivering compliance training is an asset. * The ability to communicate in Mandarin is a strong asset.
