This position is not confined to shop activities as the Mechanic may be required to perform field work on down buses. * Ongoing maintenance/repair of buses * Diagnose equipment problems * CVIP Inspections * Respond to breakdowns * Spring and winter maintenance * Complete all documentation associated with equipment repairs * Work with shop management to maintain schedules and priorities * Follow SOUTHLAND procedures and guidelines Requirements * Journeyperson Ticket (Autotmotive, Heavy Duty) * Must possess own tools for the job * Fluent in written and spoken English * 2 – 5 years related experience * Valid Driver’s License * CVIP (Commercial Vehicle Inspection Program) License considered an asset * Exposure to working on diesel, propane, and gasoline engines * Experience with automatic transmissions * Analytical and troubleshooting skills * Strong diagnostic skills * Computer proficiency Remuneration * $42.50 per hour * Bi-weekly pay period (every second Friday) * Employee Benefits Plan (after 3 month probation) * Group Registered Retirement Savings (RRSP) Plan (available after 12 months) * Annual Tool and Boot Allowance (pro-rated from start date - available in last quarter of the year, and each subsequent year) #ZRHP

Requirements

Candidates must hold a Journeyperson Ticket in Automotive or Heavy Duty mechanics and possess their own tools. A valid driver's license and 2-5 years of related experience are required, along with proficiency in English.
