Job Description Pads is seeking a Mortgage Underwriter to join our team. As a Mortgage Underwriter, you will be responsible for analyzing and evaluating mortgage loan applications to ensure they meet the required criteria and guidelines. You will work closely with other staff members to ensure that all loans are underwritten accurately and efficiently. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mortgage underwriting which consists of establishing a borrower credit worthiness and a property valuation. Key Responsibilities Analyze and evaluate mortgage loan applications to ensure they meet required criteria and guidelines. Assess the creditworthiness of borrowers and make recommendations for loan approval or denial. Review and verify borrower information, including income, employment, credit history, debt-to-income ratio. Review and analyze property information that will be used as collateral. Ensure that all loan documents are accurate and complete, and that all required documentation is obtained and properly filed. Identify potential risks and recommend appropriate risk mitigation strategies. Communicate with processors, and other staff members to resolve any issues or discrepancies. Requirements Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in mortgage underwriting. Experience in residential mortgage underwriting. Works well in high pressure environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
