Working in a collaborative legal department, directly with the General Counsel and senior business stakeholders. Description The varied Legal Counsel responsibilities include: Advise on varied legal matters. Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and agreements. Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Manage and mitigate legal risks for the company. Work closely with internal teams to provide proactive legal support. Handle legal disputes and liaise with external counsel as needed. Stay updated on legal developments impacting the transport and distribution industry. Provide training and guidance to staff on legal issues when necessary. Admitted to the Ontario Law Society (in good standing). 5+ years relevant legal experience (in-house, private practice, or combined). Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts (domestic and international). Ability to identify and manage legal risks and compliance matters effectively. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities. Strong drafting skills. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively and handle multiple priorities.
