Job summary

Help Painting Contractors Build Better Businesses PaintScout was founded by a painting contractor with one goal: help painting companies build better businesses. Today, contractors all over the world trust PaintScout to estimate faster, win more work, and run more profitable companies. We're profitable, growing quickly, and building a team that cares deeply about helping our customers succeed. We're looking for a Head of Marketing to help us tell that story, grow our reach, and make PaintScout the company every painting contractor knows. The Opportunity Marketing at PaintScout isn't about generating clicks. It's about helping contractors discover better ways to run their businesses. We've built a product customers genuinely love. We have a growing reputation in the industry, strong partnerships, and a clear understanding of who we serve. Now we need a marketing leader who can turn that foundation into a world-class growth engine. This is an opportunity to build something from the ground up. You'll own our marketing strategy, build the team, shape the brand, and play a major role in how PaintScout grows over the next several years. What You'll Do Drive Growth Build and scale marketing programs that consistently generate qualified pipeline. Own paid acquisition, content, SEO, partnerships, events, referrals, and lifecycle marketing. Continuously experiment, measure, and improve what drives customer acquisition. Shape Our Story Own PaintScout's positioning and messaging. Help contractors quickly understand what we do, why we're different, and why it matters. Create messaging that is simple, memorable, and grounded in real customer problems. Build a Brand People Trust Develop content that educates, inspires, and converts. Work closely with customers, partners, and industry influencers to expand PaintScout's reach. Continue building a brand contractors are proud to recommend. Partner With Sales Work side by side with our sales team to improve every stage of the funnel. Own pipeline contribution, not just marketing metrics. Create reporting that clearly connects marketing investments to revenue. Build the Function Create the systems, reporting, and operating rhythm for a high-performing marketing organization. Hire and develop the team as we grow. Establish clear priorities and a culture of continuous improvement. What Success Looks Like After your first 12–18 months: Marketing consistently generates qualified pipeline. Sales and marketing operate as one revenue team. More of the right painting contractors are discovering PaintScout. PaintScout is becoming the most recognized and trusted brand in the industry. The marketing team has clear priorities, strong systems, and measurable impact. Who You Are You're a builder. You likely: Have helped scale a company by driving pipeline and revenue, not just awareness. Are equally comfortable discussing positioning in the morning and launching campaigns in the afternoon. Know how to simplify complex ideas into messaging customers immediately understand. Move quickly, learn fast, and care deeply about results. Have experience in B2B SaaS or another business with a consultative sales process. Want to build something meaningful, not simply manage what already exists. What We Offer A competitive salary and bonus program Health and lifestyle benefits. A hybrid work environment based in our Calgary office. The opportunity to build and lead the marketing function at one of Canada's fastest-growing vertical SaaS companies. A direct seat at the leadership table, helping shape company strategy and growth. The freedom to test ideas, move quickly, and make a meaningful impact without layers of bureaucracy. A team that genuinely enjoys working together, challenges each other, and celebrates wins along the way. The chance to help transform an industry by building technology that improves the lives of thousands of painting contractors. Why PaintScout We're building more than software. We're helping thousands of entrepreneurs build stronger businesses, create jobs, and support their families. We're profitable, ambitious, and still early enough that the work you do will have an outsized impact on where the company goes. We also believe great companies are built by great teams. One question we often ask ourselves when hiring is:"Would we be excited to have this person join us on a trip to Mexico?" It's less about the trip and more about finding people who are humble, driven, collaborative, and enjoyable to build with. If you're looking for a role where you'll have real ownership, real impact, and the opportunity to help build something special, we'd love to talk.
