Job summary

Location: Montreal (in-office daily) Job Type: Full-time salaried role OR Contract The Oracle EBS DBA will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) responsible for end-to-end database administration, with a primary focus on vulnerability remediation and CPU patching. This role handles escalated incident response, root cause analysis, change management, and technical mentorship for junior (L1) DBAs. Responsibilities: 1. Core Administration & Remediation Execute vulnerability remediation and independent CPU patching across production systems as the primary operational focus. Manage installation, configuration, maintenance, upgrades, and support for Oracle Database production servers. Perform database refreshes, object reorganizations, indexing, space management, and datafile administration. Execute backup and recovery operations using RMAN, including handling complex database recovery scenarios. Manage database user access, security, and audit concepts. 2. Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) Operations Administer Oracle E-Business Suite R12.2.x, including ADOP patching, ad-utilities, product patching, and EBS cloning. Configure and maintain EBS Workflow Mailer and GL modules. 3. Incident & Change Management Provide resolution and root cause analysis (RCA) for P1 through P4 incidents, proactive maintenance, and complex troubleshooting. Review and execute DML/DCL/DDL scripts and data fixes according to quality and security standards. Follow ITIL policies across Incident, Problem, and Change Management (IPC). Create standard operating procedures (SOPs) and documentation. Escalate vendor, system, or service risks to management and Oracle Support as necessary. 4. Collaboration & Support Partner with cross-functional teams to design and implement solutions aligned with business requirements. Provide technical guidance and support to junior (L1) DBAs when applicable. Qualifications: Oracle & Database Core: Strong expertise in Oracle Database (including v12c, PDB & CDB architectures) and general familiarity with Sybase and SQL Server. Oracle EBS: Hands-on experience with Oracle EBS R12.2.x, ADOP patching, EBS cloning, and workflow management. Backup, Performance & Tools: Deep proficiency with RMAN backup/recovery, OPatch, shell scripting, export/import utilities, character set conversion, database monitoring tools, and analyzing ADDM/ASH reports for performance tuning. Operating Systems: Strong Unix/Linux (Solaris/Linux) background. Process Knowledge: solid understanding of ITIL frameworks (Incident, Problem, and Change Management). Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related technology field. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a high-energy, results-driven environment. Capital Markets domain experience is preferred.
