Residents live in a substance‑free environment and receive individualized, one‑to‑one support focused on building life skills, setting goals, and participating in structured group activities that promote stability and independence. As youth prepare to transition, The 1.1.2. provides housing search and transition planning, moving assistance, landlord advocacy and mediation, and coordination with social workers and other systems partners to support successful moves into safe, stable, and affordable independent housing. Hours & Conditions of Work * Auxiliary (casual) * Working Hours - This position supports teams who work in the evenings and on weekends. There will be on-call work, evening, and weekend work. * Requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, to assist with moving items such as furniture. Position Summary This position involves supporting staff on shift, crisis management, direct care to program participants. The Shift Lead supports, mentors, and provides learning opportunities for staff on shift. Shift Leads also provides one-on-one support, transition planning and leads group activities including social recreation, meetings, and unit checks. The successful applicant will bring their passion for supporting youth in housing, leadership skills and desire to be a part of a large team to the role. Responsibilities * Provides direction and support to staff on shift * Mentors and orients new staff * Coordinates service delivery and programming * Works with the Team Lead to ensure overall operations and service delivery aligns with contract expectations * Develops supportive and engaging relationships with youth * Develops individualized service and transition plans collaboratively with participants * Assists youth in maintaining program expectations such as attending meetings, maintaining unit cleanliness, supporting participants to attend school, work or volunteer opportunities and maintaining connection with other support workers * Maintains accurate case notes, monitoring youth progress, engagement, and participation in the program; other administrative tasks will be required * Conducts participant file audits and reviews * Provides life skills support and lead group activities * Provides transportation to participants * Liaises with professionals such as social workers, school personnel, and other community staff * Provides individualized housing supports such as housing search support, moving assistance, landlord advocacy, mediation and liaise with social workers to support youth to find, secure and move into safe and affordable housing * Participates in and engage in a collaborative and effective staff team * Communicates effectively with coworkers and staff and participate in team efforts * Participates in professional development and training * Communicate effectively with coworkers and staff and participate in team efforts. * Advocates and promotes the agency’s services, funding needs and value to the community * Participates in community engagement including presentations and communications * Represents PCRS at community and official functions Competencies & Knowledge * Ability to respond to crisis scenarios using agency protocols and ethics * Experience working with vulnerable and unhoused young people * Effective team collaboration skills * Experience creating and working within a culturally inclusive environment for staff, partners, and participants * Strong verbal, interpersonal, presentation, and written communication skills * Excellent time management skills and the ability to handle multiple, often conflicting priorities
