Job summary
Overview PDF Solutions Inc. (NASDAQ: PDFS) is seeking a Senior R&D Engineer to join the R&D team to develop a cutting-edge electron beam inspection tool (eProbe®). These tools are based on high-speed Scanning Electron Microscopes (SEM) and are used at semiconductor fabs for yield ramp and manufacturing control. This is a core part of PDF’s Design-for-Inspection™ (DFI) methodology. The candidate should be self-motivated and comfortable in a multidisciplinary environment. They should have a strong programming background as well as excellent analytical skills and a systematic approach to solving problems. The candidate will improve existing software as well as develop novel software solutions that are critical to the successful inspection of semiconductor wafers, with an emphasis on improving the accuracy/throughput of the system while enhancing inspection setup efficiency. They should also coordinate with engineers in the field to understand and resolve complex, time-critical issues. This position will have a direct impact on the success of PDFs eProbe® development with an opportunity for career growth and multiple career paths. Responsibilities Develop advanced software solutions for eProbe® inspection system Provide field support to troubleshoot and resolve time-critical inspection and applications issues, including travel up to 20% Communicate effectively and efficiently with team members both on-site and in the field Coordinate and work with software, applications, manufacturing, engineering, and outside consultants Qualifications Masters (PhD preferred) in Computer Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering or related fields Knowledgeable in Python or other scripting language Plus Experience with image processing and numerical optimization techniques Knowledge base or experience with hardware engineering (motion, light optics, e-beam optics, ultra-high vacuum, analog power supplies, High Voltage power supplies) Experience in Data Analysis and visualization packages (JUMP, SPLUS, Spotfire) Knowledge base or experience in semiconductor manufacturing or electron microscopes Pay Range CAD $110,000.00 - CAD $150,000.00 /Yr.
