About the Role We are looking for an experienced Senior Backend Engineer to join a newly established engineering team responsible for developing the next generation of backend services supporting trading, risk, and core platform capabilities. This position offers the opportunity to influence technical direction from the beginning, working on both new product development and the evolution of existing enterprise systems. You will collaborate closely with engineering, architecture, and product teams to design solutions that are scalable, resilient, and built for high-volume production environments. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using C# and .NET. Build high-performance distributed systems capable of handling large volumes of real-time data. Develop integrations with internal and external platforms using modern messaging technologies and APIs. Enhance and modernize existing services while maintaining system stability and compatibility. Troubleshoot production issues using monitoring, logging, and performance analysis tools. Contribute to architectural decisions and engineering best practices. Support automated deployment pipelines and containerized applications. Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, high-quality software. Example Projects Developing high-throughput data processing services that consume and transform real-time information from multiple external sources. Building scalable integration services for third-party providers with a focus on reliability and performance. Enhancing core backend services to support new platform functionality while ensuring stability for existing applications. Improving platform performance, monitoring, and operational resilience across distributed services. Requirements 5+ years of commercial experience developing applications with .NET and C#. Strong background designing scalable distributed systems and microservices. Experience working with event-driven or message-based architectures using technologies such as RabbitMQ or Kafka. Experience building REST APIs and familiarity with gRPC or WebSocket communication. Knowledge of Redis, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms, preferably Azure (AWS experience is also valuable). Experience with monitoring and observability platforms such as Grafana, Splunk, or OpenTelemetry. Comfortable working with CI/CD pipelines and containerized deployments. Experience using AI-powered developer tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar. Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative engineering team. Degree in Computer Science or equivalent commercial experience. Nice to Have Experience working in highly regulated or data-intensive industries such as fintech, financial services, payments, or online gaming. Knowledge of automated integration or simulation testing. Experience with GitOps and continuous deployment tools such as Argo CD. Familiarity with actor-based concurrency frameworks such as Akka.NET. Experience building low-latency, mission-critical backend platforms.
