Class 1 Driver & Yard/Shop Worker

Job Description Job type: Full-time , Permanent (Mon-Friday every other Saturday + on call) PGS Equipment ltd. is currently looking to hire a Class 1 Driver & Yard/ Shop Worker for our facility in Taber, AB as well as farms in Alberta and Saskatchewan. We supply row crop farmers with the equipment and systems to plant, feed, protect, harvest, store and process crops like potatoes, carrots, onions, beans, garlic, and other specialty crops. Key Responsibilities: - Assembly of equipment in shop and field - Drive, pre-inspect and operate trucks. - Follow instructions; locate and read location and road maps. - Pick up equipment and parts, verify loads for accuracy, and deliver/ pick up as instructed. - Responsible for basic vehicle maintenance; comply with all safe work practices, policies, and processes at all times. - Complete and verify paperwork for accuracy - Troubleshoot, repair, rebuild, and routine maintenance of various farm machinery and equipment, including electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems. - Installation and retrofitting of complex production equipment; fabricating and welding as required. - Maintains current knowledge of company competitive products - Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion - Performs diagnosis and repair in the field as required - Perform work in a safe manner by themselves and with others - Assist with other duties as required - Requirements: - Must pose a valid Class 1 Driver’s License - Must be dependable and self-motivated team player with the ability to communicate effectively, negotiating and conflict resolution. - Parts and machinery knowledge, preferably row crop equipment - Demonstrated aptitude in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, schematics, drawings, manuals, and specifications. - Effective attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy - Work both as a member of a team and individually with minimal supervision - Always maintain proper and safe working conditions - Effectively work in a fast-paced environment, able to work well under pressure and shifting priorities - Strong computer and technology skills is a must - Valid driver’s license and clean drivers abstract as well as forklift certificate We offer: Benefit package with: (after trail period) ● Competitive salary, Disability Insurance ● Holiday and paid time off ● Dental + Vision Care ● Bonus structure ● Life insurance ● Benefit program and employee discounts ● Extended health care ● Training programs (if available) ● RRSP (after 3 year employment) ● Possibilities in growth in the company We thank all applicants, but only qualified candidates will be contacted.
