We are looking for a Senior Protection & Control Testing Technician to join our Calgary team on a full-time basis. This is a field based position requiring extended out-of-town shifts. What You'll Do: Test and commission MV/HV power system protection and control schemes across the utility, power generation, and oil & gas sectors Perform secondary relay injection testing on microprocessor relays/IEDs using advanced test sets such as Omicron CMC356 and CMC500 Conduct SCADA points testing and verification Interpret technical drawings and troubleshoot/resolve issues in the field Prepare and submit detailed commissioning reports Contribute to the development of commissioning startup procedures and work instructions Uphold all safety practices in accordance with corporate, client, and industry standards Communicate with clients to address inquiries, discuss issues, and confirm resolutions What You Bring: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Electrician Journeyman Ticket, or Electrical Engineering Technologist Diploma from a recognized institute Minimum 4 years of experience in protection and controls relay testing within the electrical utilities industry Hands-on experience with advanced relay test sets (e.g., Omicron CMC356, CMC500) Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail Proficiency with Microsoft Office and strong general computer skills Proven analytical, risk assessment, and problem solving abilities Requirements: Ability to work extended periods out of town Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Must be legally authorized to work in Canada; VISA sponsorship is not available Additional Information: Typical shifts will range from 8/6, 10/4, and 14/7 Working hours are generally from 7am - 5:30pm at 10hrs/day Daily work hours and shifts are subject to change based on project requirements, applicants must be flexible to accommodate these changes when required Phasor Engineering Inc. offers a competitive compensation and benefits package and excellent opportunities for growth and advancement.
