Pillar5 Pharma Inc. is currently seeking a dedicated and reliable Building Systems Technician to join our Facilities & Maintenance team. In this role, you will support the operation, maintenance, and monitoring of building systems and facility infrastructure to ensure the safety, reliability, and efficiency of our pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. Working closely with the Facility Supervisor, you will assist with preventative maintenance activities, facility projects, contractor coordination, and general facility operations while contributing to a safe, compliant, and well-maintained workplace. Responsibilities: • Work closely with the Facility Supervisor to support the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the facility. • Coordinate and communicate with contractors and external service providers to ensure facility work is completed safely and effectively. • Obtain and evaluate vendor quotations and bids for facility-related projects and services, serving as a backup resource as required. • Monitor and support building systems, including fire alarm panels, fire pumps, and related life safety equipment. • Monitor and assist with the operation of the boiler room, water systems, air compressors, and rooftop HVAC units. • Perform work safely while using ladders, aerial work platforms, and scissor lifts, including working at heights as required. • Perform general building repairs and maintenance, including drywall repairs, painting, furniture moves, air filter replacement, and minor plumbing repairs. • Maintain oversight of inventory levels of cleaning, maintenance, and facility supplies. • Support a culture of compliance by ensuring required documentation is completed accurately and maintained in accordance with company standards. • Identify and report maintenance concerns, equipment issues, and facility repair requirements to the Facility Supervisor. • Assist with seasonal grounds maintenance activities, including snow and ice removal. • Support facility response and recovery activities during power outages, including equipment and system resets. • Participate in preventative maintenance activities to ensure facility systems operate safely, efficiently, and reliably. • Ensure waste, recycling, and rejected materials are handled and disposed of in accordance with company procedures as required. • Perform routine facility cleaning and housekeeping tasks, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, scrubbing, and waste removal as needed. • Follow all safety, GMP, environmental, and company policies and procedures while performing assigned duties. Qualifications: • High School Diploma required; post-secondary education or a skilled trade certification is an asset. • Minimum 3 years of experience in facilities maintenance, building operations, or a related mechanical role. • Knowledge of GMP, SOPs, workplace safety practices, PPE requirements, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures. • Experience with boiler systems, water systems, HVAC equipment, or building utilities. • First Aid, Forklift, and/or Scissor Lift certification is considered an asset. • Experience in a GMP-regulated manufacturing environment is preferred. • Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on safety, reliability, and operational excellence. • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to perform general repairs and maintenance. • Ability to work safely at heights, climb ladders, and perform physically demanding tasks. • Excellent organization, communication, problem-solving, and time management skills. • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and collaborate effectively within a team. • Basic computer skills. • Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation and work various shifts such as weekends and evenings as required. Shift: * Monday to Thursday 6:40 AM to 3:40 PM * Friday – 6:40 AM to 12:30 PM Compensation: * The starting rate for this position is $31.46/hr, with set increases based on tenure. * Full-time, permanent employees receive full health benefits starting on Day One.
