Job summary

Job Title: Full-Time Child Caregiver / Nanny Location: Coquitlam, BC Compensation: $18.50/hour Job Overview We are seeking a reliable, experienced, and highly flexible nanny to care for our two children, one that is two and another that is a newborn. We are looking for someone who is dependable, calm under pressure, and able to adapt to a variable schedule based on our family's needs. Due to the nature of our work, our childcare needs can change with little notice, so flexibility is essential. Responsibilities Provide attentive, nurturing care for two children under the age of three. Maintain a safe, stimulating, and engaging environment. Prepare healthy meals and snacks for the children. Change diapers, assist with feeding, naps, bathing, and age-appropriate developmental activities. Perform light housekeeping related to the children, including: - Children's laundry - Cleaning bottles and dishes - Tidying play areas and bedrooms - General kitchen cleanup after meal preparation Cook meals for the children. Follow established routines and provide regular updates to parents regarding the children's day. Schedule Requirements This role requires exceptional flexibility. One parent is a healthcare worker and the other travels often for work. The successful candidate must be available for a wide variety of shift lengths and schedules, including: Overnight shifts when required. Full-day shifts of approximately 10–12 hours. Short shifts of fewer than 4 hours. Weekday, evening, weekend, and holiday availability as needed. Ability to report to work with as little as 30 minutes' notice when unexpected work commitments require childcare. Required Qualifications Current Infant and Child First Aid and CPR certification. Demonstrated ability to safely manage infants and toddlers independently. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and maintain a safe, caring, and structured environment for young children. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is dependable, patient, adaptable, and responsive to changing scheduling needs. They are confident caring for two young children independently, provide a safe and nurturing environment, and are willing to support the family through children's meal preparation and light housekeeping while maintaining the highest standard of care.
