Plasman is currently seeking a new member to join our ENGINEERING team as a: CONTROLS ENGINEER (15-MONTH CONTRACT) The Controls Engineer or designate is responsible for repairing equipment in an efficient manner to promote the reduction of downtime. Key Responsibilities * Develop, implement, and maintain control systems and programs to ensure manufacturing efficiency. * Design and program PLC systems to optimize production processes. * Assist in troubleshooting equipment and control system issues to minimize downtime; repair and maintain systems with respect to electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and general repair maintenance within specifications. * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support production improvements and innovations. * Conduct regular system evaluations and maintenance to ensure continued process effectiveness. * Integrate new technologies to enhance existing manufacturing processes. * Document control specifications, system configurations, and comprehensive maintenance procedures. * Ensure a personal and associate awareness of all quality and business related operating systems (ISO/IATF). QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WE'RE LOOKING FOR * Post secondary degree or diploma in an electrical, mechanical or related field; a combination of education, training and years working experience will be considered. * Skilled trade ticket in a provincially or federally recognized trade program * Experience with PLC programming and industrial control systems is essential. * Minimum 2 years related working experience, preferably within an automotive or manufacturing environment. * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. * Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to facilitate collaboration across departments. * Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously. * Familiarity with various automation software and hardware systems. This position offers a compensation range of $75,000 – $95,000, dependent on skills and experience. This posting is for an existing position within Plasman. The Controls Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining control systems to optimize manufacturing efficiency and reduce downtime. This includes programming PLC systems and performing repairs on electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment.

Candidates must have a post-secondary degree or diploma in an electrical or mechanical field and a recognized skilled trade ticket. A minimum of 2 years of experience in PLC programming, preferably within an automotive or manufacturing environment, is required.
