Software Tester - Intern We are looking for a motivated Software Tester Intern to join our quality assurance and software testing team. This is an opportunity to gain practical experience in manual testing, test case development, defect reporting, and Agile software delivery while working alongside experienced QA professionals and technology teams. You will receive guidance and mentorship as you develop your testing skills and contribute to real-world client projects. The successful candidate will be curious, detail-oriented, collaborative, and eager to learn how reliable, accessible, and user-friendly software is delivered. This role will be required to be onsite in Sault Ste Marie Ontario 5 days per week. Responsibilities: Participate in software testing activities under the guidance of senior QA team members Execute low‑risk test cases and accurately document test results and defects Learn and apply foundational QA concepts, tools, and testing methodologies through hands‑on experience Collaborate with team members during ceremonies, knowledge‑sharing sessions, and project discussions Follow established testing processes while developing attention to detail and quality standards Actively seek and incorporate feedback to improve technical and professional skills Build foundational testing skills through training and hands-on learning Demonstrate a growth mindset and curiosity about testing tools and techniques Support team goals by communicating effectively and contributing positively to the team environment Education: Preference given to applicants with college-accredited training / certificate in Software Testing. As this position is funded under NOHFC's People and Talent Program - Indigenous Stream, the successful candidate is required to: be at least 18 years old. reside and be legally entitled to work in Canada, and live in the Northern Ontario community where employed. be a new entrant to the workforce, transitioning to a new career, or unemployed/underemployed entering a new field. have not previously participated in an NOHFC-funded internship. identify as an Indigenous person, including First Nation (whether or not you have “status” under the federal Indian Act), Métis or Inuit.
